Review Amsterdam Admirals vs Scottish Claymores

The Scottish Claymores held her winning streak against Amsterdam. Claymores star Running Back was in fine shape as he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. He caught five passes for 45 yards. He also scored a 26-yard touchdown run with 4:08 left on the clock. Jared Kaaiohelo added another 6 points in the 2nd quarter to the score-board. However they failed to score the 2-point conversion.
Claymores defense was in fine shape as they were able to holding the Admirals offense to 124 yards and only a 32-yard field goal in the 4th quarter. Score made by Oliver Quass.
Kari Gronroos kicked a 22-yard field goal only a few seconds in the 4th quarter.
Claymores quarterback Dave Barr completed 23 of 31 passes for 206 yards. Amsterdam's John Sacca was 12 of 22 passes for 120 yards and was sacked 6 times.
It's only the first game there's still hope for more. We can't wait till the Admirals take on their rival Frankfurt Galaxy next Saturday.

Last years rival Frankfurt Galaxy needed their German national Ralf Kleinmann to give Frankfurt the first victory in the 1997 season. He was good for a total of 4 field goals. From 39, 36, 43 and 28 yards he connected succesfully to secure the win over the unfortunate Admirals. Running Back Bobby Phillips had a 65-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put the Galaxy on the score-board.
Amsterdam had a troublesome evening with quarterback John Sacca being sacked 6 times. The only score untill the 3-rd quarter was a 34-yard field goal from Oliver Quass. Late in the 3-rd quarter replacing quarterback Mike McCoy hit John Davis for a 3-yard touchdown pass. Unfortunately the last time Amsterdam put themselves in scoring position.
Next week the Admirals take on the London Monarchs in the Amsterdam Arena. We'll be there to see the Admirals win their first game in the 1997 season. After all the season is young and the hunt for the World Bowl has only just begun.

Star Running back Ralph Dawkins was back on track for the Admirals as he scored two touchdowns. Now the fans know why he was missed so bad. He made scores from the 5 and 2 yard line. Other scores for the Admirals were put on the scoreboard by Brent Moss with an 8 yard touchdown run and Tellison who scored a 49 yard TD reception from quarterback McCoy.
The Admirals defense was on track as London was kept to only scoring 2 field goals by Don Silvestri. It seemed like Amsterdam saw the light again on how to win. Now that they have seen it the Road to the World Bowl is still very open. Next victim for the guys will be Rhein Fire. It will be a very exciting game that's for sure.

In a very exciting match again the Admirals held their winning streak. The victory over the Fire made the World Bowl come a little closer.
Again it was star Running back Ralph Dawkins who scored for the Admirals on a 15 yard TD-run. Good Admirals defensive play made a block on a punt and defensive back Robert Hall scored a touchdown early in the 4th quarter. The admirals secured their victory over the Fire with this play because Fire Quarterback T.J. Rubley connected a 41-yard TD-pass to Bill Schroeder with only seconds left in the game. Rubly also connected a 38-yard TD-pass to David Rhodes.
Admirals are now second in the World League taking on the leaders Barcelona Dragons. What a matchup at the end of the first half of the season. Main question for all you Admirals fans; will the World Bowl be played in the famous Amsterdam Arena?

With the hosting of the World Bowl at stake it promised to be an exciting match. And so it turned out to be. Unfortunately for the Admirals the wrong way. Quaterback John Kitna was in good form he passed 3 TD's although he was intercepted four times. He connected to Wilson two times for 31 and 10 yards Touchdown passes. Tyree Davis caught the other touchdown for only 6 yards. Kitna scored the final blow with a 39-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
In the 3rd quarter came the turn for the Admirals, probably a quarter to late, when Marc Lillibridge returned a 10-yard interception for a touchdown. Brent Moss put 21-14 on the score board with just over 12 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. Admirals made the final score with just over 4 minutes left in the game quarterback Jay Fiedler connected a 3-yard touchdown pass to Robert Hall.
Luckily the Admirals are still in the race for the World Bowl but they lost the home advantage in a tough battle against the Dragons from Barcelona.
